The Metamorphosis [un-conventional]

Here is a series of posters I created for 'The Metamorphosis' brief. I only used Gregor's speech within the second and third chapter for these posters. The idea was to explore his speech through creative typography introducing certain bits of colour to emphasize on his emotions.

Here is a conventional book I had created for the brief 'The Metamorphosis'. I wanted to create something different that represented the main character 'Gregor', however not make it as obvious. 
I have hand stitched this with just a simple saddle stitch. And created a simple sleeve for the 
chapters to slot inside, securing it with a simple belly band.

Here are close up shots showing my tip-ins to the book. The idea behind this book was that Gregor was pushing out of a small space on the brown stock and the rest of his family were normal size that were free on the bigger pages.







 

Manifesto

A project for uni based on our own manifesto. Mine was base on the idea of everyone 'switching off' once a month to appreciate how much much we rely on modern technology! You would receive one of these cards through your door once a month saying 'SWITCH OFF'.

Garden Arts Trail

Here are photos taken from a garden arts trail that I took part in on the 11th September. The piece I created was written by English Poet Edmund Spencer and was called 'Garden of Adonis'. The idea was to re-create this poem in an exciting form, with the idea of putting the text back into it's surrounding's.

Eleven other artist's took place in this exhibition, hiding several pieces of their work that was situated in Scarborough's Woodend Cresent. The art trail was towards the developing project 'Chart Scarborough'. 'Chart Scarborough' is a project set up for you to explore the town in more depth, finding out the history and culture of the town. http://www.chartscarborough.com/

Type in the environment part 2

Here is the second part to my Type in the environment project. This phrase is taken from Anne Brontë's 'Agnes Grey'.
